Our “Business Physician®” Services

Is it time for a business check-up with your client? Consider your clients past six months...

  • Is the business taking full advantage of the Internet to support and expand its opportunities?
  • Has the business achieved its revenue potential?
  • Is the business able to maintain or improve its margins?
  • Is the cash flow positive?
  • How are the accounting practices?
  • Are its sales and marketing plans being implemented?
  • Are there any danger signs?
  • What’s preventing the business from achieving or even exceeding its goals?

If you are not comfortable with your answers to these questions, it may be time for some action... a Business Physician “check-up”, a year-end "physical", a "second opinion" or some more immediate "emergency room" treatment for the entrepreneur.

Most people are quite familiar with their core business. The chef knows how to prepare fine food and the IT professional knows how to write winning software. Entrepreneurs feel as though they have to do everything themselves, which can lead to burn out. To avoid this situation, it is essential for them to know that there is professional training and coaching for their organizations, leaving them to focus on what they do best.

Most of the time though, businesses do not understand the basics of sales, marketing, planning, operations and more importantly, the technological and Web presence demands of their business. As you would expect, these components are our core services... proven and we're good at them!

In a non-intrusive way, we provide an extra pair of eyes, hands, and an empathetic ear to help them to achieve their goals. Also, just as importantly, we have experienced and overcome similar problems in the past and have the scars to prove it.

A Typical Engagement

All businesses are different and no one knows the business as well as the entrepreneur. Yet there are often key sales, marketing, technology, and operations areas to work on to get a business working effectively. These could include:

  • Writing, reviewing or monitoring business, sales and marketing plans;
  • Refining sales brochures, display and presentation materials;
  • Assisting new entrepreneurs in developing and responding to their funding applications as they navigate through the various and different funding programs;
  • Developing effective business and client contact management systems;
  • Conducting an internal technology audit including web presence.

A typical coaching session includes 2 to 3 interactions per month, for 3 or more months. We use a combination of face-to-face meetings and some external research based on the client’s needs and availability.

Call us to arrange a presentation on how we can help support both the funding partner and the entrepreneurs’ interests.
